Settle Down Easy Brewing – Open Mic

It was in the fall of 2019 about 1 year after Settle Down Easy Brewing opened their doors.  I said we need to extend our hours and open on Tuesdays.  Needing to create a way to draw customers to the bar, the team launched an “Open Mic” concept!  Shortly after, a local regular named Shawn asked if he could help!  So, Shawn and I set out on a plan to building something very special! To create an open and safe environment where all musicians are welcome; all talent levels and all ages!  Open mic started with 2 or 3 players in the early days, but slowly we grew the number of players.

In 2020 COVID shut down the brewery and suspended Open Mic.  Not to be discouraged, we took a moment to think about how we could maintain the momentum.  Shawn had a great idea to move the event to the front of the building, and keep it outside.  It was called the “Micless Open Mic” and it was strictly an acoustic event.  Slowly the musicians started returning, bringing loved ones and friends.  The vibe was fun and chill and when each performer played, the entire crowd became quiet to respect the performer.  Over time, the Micless Open Mic grew so large we had 50 – 55 customers sitting in the front parking lot, with more and more players showcasing their talents.

So to maintain our growing community, we moved the event outback.  About 3 weeks ago, with restrictions lifting, we brought back the PA and amplified the guitars and vocals!  Last week we had one of our busiest Tuesday nights EVER!  The excitement is growing, the talent is increasing and the over all environment is field with friendly, kind and caring customers!  Don’t believe me, come on down on a Tuesday and see for yourself!

We offer $2 tacos on Tuesday night and all musicians receive 50% off their first beer (21+)

I truly love what we have built here, and I think it is just the beginning!
