Settle Down Easy Brewing – Falls Church is bringing a true summer DMV classic to the neighborhood with their All You Can Eat Maryland Crab Feast on Saturday, July 25th from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

For $60 per person, guests get unlimited steamed Maryland blue crabs served hot and seasoned, paired with traditional sides of corn on the cob and seasoned potatoes. It’s designed as a relaxed, all-afternoon seafood experience where you can settle in with friends, crack crabs, and enjoy the brewery’s laid-back atmosphere.

What makes this event stand out is the pairing opportunity. For guests with an AYCE crab ticket only, Settle Down Easy will be offering exclusive beer specials throughout the event, giving attendees a chance to enjoy fresh lagers, IPAs, and seasonal pours specifically priced for the crab feast crowd. It’s built to keep the focus on long table sessions, cold beer, and steady rounds of crabs coming out through the afternoon.

The event runs during peak summer crab season, when Maryland blue crabs are at their best—sweet, heavy, and ideal for traditional Old Bay steaming. The setup is simple: grab a table, get your mallets and trays, and settle in for a five-hour coastal-style feast right in Falls Church.

For Settle Down Easy, this kind of event has become one of the signature summer activations—combining their brewery identity with one of the most iconic food traditions in the region. At $60, it’s positioned as an accessible, high-energy community event that blends unlimited crabs, classic sides, and brewery-driven beer specials into a single afternoon experience.

If you’re in Northern Virginia and want the full Maryland crab house vibe without leaving Falls Church, this is one of the most direct, well-priced ways to get it.

The 8th Annual OysterFEST & Seafood
at Settle Down Easy Brewing has quietly become one of the most anticipated spring food events in Northern Virginia, especially for anyone who loves fresh seafood paired with craft beer. Held in April—an otherwise surprisingly quiet time for oyster festivals in the Fairfax area—this event fills a seasonal gap and delivers a lively, community-driven alternative to the larger, fall-dominated oyster scene around the Chesapeake Bay.
At its core, OysterFEST is exactly what it sounds like: a celebration of oysters in multiple forms. Attendees can expect a steady flow of freshly shucked raw oysters (3 different types for this event), often sourced from the Mid-Atlantic region, alongside grilled options that bring a smoky, savory twist. But the event goes well beyond oysters alone. The “Seafood Extravaganza” part of the name is well-earned, with a menu that typically includes lobster rolls, crab cakes, shrimp dishes, and other coastal staples. It’s designed to appeal not just to oyster purists, but to anyone who enjoys a classic East Coast seafood spread.
What really sets this event apart, though, is the setting. Unlike traditional waterfront oyster festivals, which often take place along the Chesapeake Bay or in small coastal towns, this one unfolds in a brewery in Falls Church. That shift in environment creates a completely different atmosphere—less about scenic views and more about energy, music (starting at 6PM) $10 COVER, and socializing. The vibe leans heavily into the strengths of a modern craft brewery: casual, upbeat, and communal. Long tables, outdoor seating, and an easy flow between beer lines and food vendors make it easy to settle in for an afternoon.
Beer is, of course, a central part of the experience. Settle Down Easy Brewing is known for a diverse tap list that ranges from crisp lagers and approachable ales to hop-forward IPAs and darker, richer stouts. During OysterFEST, these beers become more than just a backdrop—they’re part of the pairing experience. Light, refreshing brews complement raw oysters beautifully, while maltier options can stand up to grilled seafood and heavier dishes like crab cakes. For many attendees, the event is as much about discovering new beer favorites as it is about the food.
Starting at 6pm, Born Cross Eyes will be performing ($10 Cover).  Rather than treating entertainment as an afterthought, OysterFEST builds it into the core of the event. Bron Cross Eyes and Dead, an inspired JAM BAND  will perform that evening, adding to the festival feel and encouraging people to linger. The combination of music, seafood, and beer creates a rhythm that feels more like a party than a traditional food festival. It’s the kind of event where people show up for a quick bite and end up staying for hours.
One of the reasons this festival has grown in popularity over its eight-year run is its accessibility. Large-scale oyster festivals in the region—especially those in Maryland or Virginia’s Northern Neck—often require a significant drive and a full-day commitment. In contrast, this event is right in the heart of the Northern Virginia suburbs, making it easy for people from Fairfax, Arlington, and D.C. to attend without extensive planning. That convenience has helped it develop a loyal following of locals who return year after year.
That said, the event’s popularity comes with a few practical considerations. It tends to draw a sizable crowd, particularly as the afternoon progresses. Lines for oysters and beer can build, and popular items may sell out before the event ends. Seasoned attendees often recommend arriving early to get the best selection and avoid the heaviest crowds. The early hours also tend to offer a slightly more relaxed atmosphere, before the peak festival rush kicks in.
Another notable aspect of OysterFEST is how it reflects broader trends in the way people experience food events. There’s been a shift away from highly formal, ticketed festivals toward more flexible, come-as-you-are gatherings that blend food, drink, and entertainment. This event fits squarely into that trend. It doesn’t try to replicate the scale or structure of major oyster festivals; instead, it leans into what a brewery does best—creating a welcoming space where people can eat, drink, and connect.
In many ways, the 8th Annual OysterFEST & Seafood Extravaganza represents a new kind of local tradition. It may not have the historic legacy of the Chesapeake’s iconic oyster festivals, but it has carved out its own identity as the go-to spring seafood event in the Fairfax area. For those who don’t want to wait until fall—or travel far from home—to enjoy a proper oyster celebration, it offers a compelling alternative.
Ultimately, what makes this event stand out isn’t just the oysters or the beer, but the combination of elements: quality seafood, a strong craft beer program, live music, and a lively, approachable setting. It’s a reminder that great food experiences don’t always require a scenic coastline or a massive festival footprint. Sometimes, all you need is a good brewery, fresh oysters, and a crowd ready to have a good time.

On open-mic nights at Settle Down Easy Brewing, the atmosphere feels less like a performance venue and more like a neighborhood gathering where creativity and comfort collide. Tucked into the Falls Church area just outside the bustle of the Beltway, the brewery has become a relaxed spot for local musicians, comedians, and spoken-word performers to test out material in front of a friendly crowd. The combination of craft beer, casual seating, and the promise of $3 tacos turns the evening into something that feels both festive and welcoming.

When people arrive, the first thing they notice is the easygoing vibe. Unlike some open mics that feel competitive or intimidating, the room at Settle Down Easy tends to fill with regulars who genuinely enjoy seeing new performers take the stage. A simple sign-up sheet usually starts the night. Guitarists tune quietly near the side of the room, comedians jot down last-minute notes on their phones, and poets flip through dog-eared notebooks while waiting for their turn.

The performances themselves are eclectic. One moment a singer-songwriter might deliver an original folk tune; the next, a comic tries out a five-minute set about commuting on I-66. Sometimes performers collaborate spontaneously—someone might jump in with a harmonica or percussion. Because the crowd tends to be supportive, performers often feel comfortable experimenting with new material. Applause is generous, and even rough drafts of songs or jokes get encouraging laughs.

Of course, the other star of the evening is the food. The $3 tacos are a major draw and help give the night a lively, communal feel. People gather near the bar or food counter between sets, balancing plates and drinks while talking about the performances. The tacos themselves are simple but satisfying—perfect for sharing or grabbing a quick bite between songs. That affordable price point also keeps the night accessible for students, artists, and anyone who wants a fun evening without spending much.

The brewery’s craft beer lineup complements the casual food perfectly. Patrons often try a flight of house brews while watching the performances, comparing tasting notes or recommending favorites to newcomers. The relaxed setting makes it easy for strangers to strike up conversations, which is part of what makes the open mic feel like a community event rather than just entertainment.

As the evening progresses, the crowd gradually settles into a rhythm. Performers cycle through the microphone, and each act adds a new flavor to the night. By the time the final set finishes, the room usually feels a little more connected than when the night began. Musicians exchange social media handles, comics discuss upcoming shows, and audience members linger for one last taco or beer.

In many ways, the open mic at Settle Down Easy Brewing captures the spirit of local arts culture in Northern Virginia: informal, supportive, and fueled by good food and conversation. For anyone looking to share a song, try out a joke, or simply enjoy a relaxed night of live entertainment, the combination of community talent and $3 tacos makes it an easy place to settle in and stay awhile.

Head Brewer – Mr. Russ Sabbag
Russ started his career in craft beer in 2017 at Funky Buddha Brewing in Oakland Park, FL, as a keg washer and packaging assistant for the bottling line. He quickly moved up to 1st Shift Packaging Lead and then to the Cellar, where he worked on award-winning beers, including No Crusts, a PBJ Brown Ale, and the well-known Maple Bacon Coffee Porter.  He also operated the pilot 7bbl system.
Russ moved to NOVA in 2019 to be closer to his family and joined Lost Rhino, where he operated their GEO Centrifuge, Wild Goose Canning Line, and 30-barrel Brew House. He improved canning line operating speeds and increased the yields on filtrations.
At the end of 2022, he had the opportunity to take over production at Adroit Theory.  Elevating the untappd rating while streamlining operations, doubling the cellar capacity, and starting their “in-house” packaging department. He developed the new hazy style they have been brewing, emanating from a VOID experimental line, in addition to reviving the lager program with a new flagship, Thrash Metal Helles Lager.
I am so excited to see what Russ will do for Settle Down Easy Brewing!  Settle Down Easy, Ramble on BABY!

TL;DR  Every September – Settle Down Easy Brewing in Falls Church delivers the freshest and crispiest lagers! Kick ofthe FEST Season with Owner Frank on the Grill with Brats “your way” starting on Saturday September 20th at 12 noon.

Every autumn, when the air turns crisp and the leaves begin to shift into golden shades, beer lovers eagerly await the arrival of Oktoberfest season. At Settle Down Easy Brewing Company, this annual tradition is more than just a celebration of beer—it’s a gathering of community, culture, and camaraderie. Known for its creative brews and welcoming taproom atmosphere, the brewery embodies the spirit of Munich’s world-famous festival while infusing it with a uniquely local twist that resonates with both loyal patrons and newcomers.

The highlight of the season, of course, is the beer. Settle Down Easy Brewing’s Oktoberfest Märzen & FEST Bier are the stars of the show, brewed with a dedication to tradition while still showcasing the brewery’s craft-driven personality. Märzen-style lagers are the backbone of Oktoberfest celebrations, and Settle Down Easy’s version balances toasted malt flavors with a smooth, clean finish that makes it as drinkable as it is flavorful. With notes of caramel, bread crust, and a gentle touch of noble hops, it embodies everything enthusiasts love about this seasonal style. Served in steins or pints, it’s a beer that invites guests to linger, laugh, and raise a hearty “Prost!” among friends.

But Oktoberfest at Settle Down Easy is not only about what’s in the glass—it’s about the whole experience. The brewery transforms its space into a festive, Bavarian-inspired gathering place. Grab a group of friends and enjoy the communal tables, which encourage conversation. At the same time, traditional decorations, from blue-and-white banners to rustic beer garden touches, set the stage for an authentic yet approachable event. Patrons often arrive decked out in dirndls and lederhosen, embracing the fun-loving atmosphere that makes Oktoberfest so iconic worldwide.

The food is another essential part of the celebration. No Oktoberfest would be complete without hearty German-inspired fare, and Settle Down Easy will have a traditional German bratwurst, Chadder Jalapeño Brat,, and DMB Half Smokealongside, alongside large jumbo pretzels. The pairing of rich, savory flavors with the crisp malt character of Oktoberfest Märzen creates a combination that is as satisfying as it is festive. Whether guests are sampling a giant pretzel with spicy mustard or diving into a platter of sausages, the culinary side of Oktoberfest adds a memorable dimension to the brewery’s seasonal celebration.

Settle Down Easy offers Family-friendly activities and games that often round out the festivities, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

What makes Settle Down Easy Brewing’s Oktoberfest truly special, though, is the sense of community it fosters. The event is a chance for neighbors, friends, and visitors to gather together, share stories, and celebrate not just beer, but connection. In a world that often feels fast-paced and fragmented, Oktoberfest serves as a reminder to slow down, savor the moment, and enjoy good company with great beer.

As the festival season unfolds, Settle Down Easy Brewing continues to prove that Oktoberfest is more than a tradition—it’s an experience. By blending time-honored German influences with local flavor and hospitality, the brewery offers a celebration that feels both authentic and uniquely its own. With every stein raised and every toast shared, the Oktoberfest spirit at Settle Down Easy Brewing lives up to its name: a place where it’s easy to settle down, enjoy life, and celebrate together.

The Steezeburger: Where Style Meets Bite

At Settle Down Easy Brewing – In a world of fast food and culinary experimentation, one burger stands out—not just for its flavor, but for its vibe. Enter the Steezeburger: a bold, swagger-filled take on the classic burger that doesn’t just fill your stomach—it flexes while doing it. A hybrid ofstyleandease, the Steezeburger is a full-sensory experience, blending taste, culture, and confidence into a single, unforgettable bite.

At its core, the Steeze burger starts with a premium, grass-fed beef patty—juicy, thick, and grilled with just the right char, ADD A CRAFT BEER! But this isn’t your ordinary slab of meat. It’s been marinated in a secret blend of smoky chipotle, garlic, and umami-rich miso for 24 hours, giving it a flavor profile that punches above its weight. It’s savory, slightly spicy, and packed with complexity—like a great song that reveals new layers every time you listen.

Then comes the cheese. But not just one. The Steezeburger features a melt blend of smoked gouda and sharp white cheddar, cascading down the sides of the patty like a lava flow of deliciousness. It’s creamy, bold, and refuses to be ignored. Layered on top is crispy pancetta—yes, pancetta—offering a salty, crunchy contrast that makes bacon seem like its shy little cousin.  Just add a Settle Down Easy BREW!

But we’re only getting started at Settle Down Easy Brewing. The bun? A glossy, butter-toasted brioche—lightly sweet, impossibly soft, yet firm enough to hold its own. Spread across it is a hand-whipped aioli infused with roasted garlic, black truffle oil, and a whisper of lemon zest. Think of it as the cologne of the burger—just enough to turn heads without trying too hard.

Toppings? Of course. It’s all about the pickles…  they add crunch, color, and a zippy tang—because the Steeze burger doesn’t do ordinary. And instead of ketchup, there’s a tangy-sweet house sauce spiked with tamarind and sriracha, balancing heat with depth at Settle Down Easy Brewing!

Visually, it’s a masterpiece. The kind of burger you don’t just eat—you post. It sits confidently on the plate, stacked with swagger, the colors popping, the steam rising like it knows it’s the star of the show. Every element screams craft, from the brandedSseared into the top bun to the signature toothpick flag planted like a victory banner.

The Steeze burger isn’t just food—it’s a flex. It’s for the ones who want more than a meal; they want an experience. It’s for the bold, the stylish, the taste-makers who know that flavor is fashion and every bite should be a statement. You don’t just eat a Steeze burger.

Settle Down Easy Brewing – The Rise of the Gourmet Glizzy: Reinventing the Classic Hot Dog – Wednesday July 16th

In recent years, the humble hot dog — affectionately dubbed the “glizzy” in pop culture — has undergone a remarkable transformation. Once limited to backyard barbecues, baseball stadiums, and street carts, the glizzy has found a new home in the kitchens of inventive chefs and trendy eateries. Enter the gourmet glizzy: a reinvention of the classic American staple, now elevated with high-end ingredients, cultural mashups, and an artistry that rivals fine dining.

At its core, the gourmet glizzy stays true to its roots — a sausage in a bun — but everything beyond that is up for reinvention. Artisan butchers are crafting house-made sausages from grass-fed beef, spicy lamb, and even wild game likeelk or duck. Instead of the standard white bun, gourmet glizzies come cradled in fresh brioche rolls, pretzel buns, or even bao-style steamed buns, offering a better texture and flavor base.

But the toppings are where things get truly exciting. The modern gourmet glizzy isn’t just about ketchup and mustard — it’s a global culinary playground. Think Korean-inspired glizzies with kimchi, gochujang aioli, and pickled daikon. Or Mexican-themed dogs topped with elote-style corn, chipotle crema, and crushed Takis. Some go full brunch-style, adding soft-poached eggs, hollandaise, and crispy prosciutto. Others lean into decadence, featuring black truffle shavings, foie gras mousse, or lobster chunks drizzled in garlic butter.

Settle Down Easy Brewing in Falls Church is hosting a pop-up, and embracing the trend.

The Menu will include: $8 each

Chili Cheese Dog

Frank’s signature chili, sting beer cheese, topped with  cheddar

Bacon UP

Bacon-wrapped dog topped with sautéed peppers and onions

Corn Dog

topped with caramelized onions, bacon, street corn and  Crema cheese

Nacho Dog

chunky guacamole and Frank’s grilled tomato-chipotle salsa

The gourmet glizzy is more than a food trend — it’s a cultural moment. It reflects a broader shift in American food culture, where comfort food meets culinary experimentation. It also invites a certain playfulness. There’s something inherently joyful — even rebellious — about treating a hot dog with the same reverence you’d give to a plate of duck confit. It challenges the notion that fine food must be serious or expensive.

In the age of social media, the gourmet glizzy is also highly photogenic — stacked high with colorful toppings, served in branded trays, and often paired with local craft beer. National Glizzy Day (July 16) has only helped fan the flames, with breweries and food trucks across the country offering special releases and one-day-only creations to celebrate.

Ultimately, the gourmet glizzy is proof that even the simplest foods can be elevated. It’s a testament to the idea that innovation doesn’t always require foie gras and caviar — sometimes, all it takes is a little love, a bold vision, and the willingness to reimagine a backyard classic.
